Book Burning Memorial – Bebelplatz, Berlin

28 mm, 1/5 sec at f/3,5, ISO 400 (Sepia, contrast, darkening, exposure)

Picture taken at Bebelplatz, Berlin just opposite the Humboldt University. Bebelplatz is known as the site of the infamous Nazi book burning ceremony held in the evening of May 10, 1933 (Wikipedia). The two people in the picture are looking down at the memorial through a glass plate. Beneath the glass plate is a white well-lit room filled with empty book cases commemorating the book burning ceremony by symbolizing the perceived empty book cases at the libraries.
