Flight of the Seagull

300 mm, 1/320 sec at f/11, ISO 800 (post editing – B & W, noise reduction and addition of contrast)

Now, I admit that the composition of the picture is not specially exciting, but considering the conditions I had to work with I am pretty happy about the outcome. The picture was taken on a rainy and very windy day at the north western shores of Jutland, Denmark. Due to the massive cloud cover there was not much light to work with, so I found myself forced to use an ISO speed of 800 in order to get a reasonable amount of light into the picture so that I could maintain a high shutter speed – Seagulls fly damn fast! In hind sight I should have gone for a f/5.6 instead of the the f/11 – might have allowed me to use an ISO speed of 400… ah well. Hope you enjoy!
